Paul Waring is the 2017 Club Champion, scoring 141 (68 + 73). He got off to a great start in the first round on Saturday by birdieing the first three holes reaching the turn at three under par. A birdie at 10 and an eagle at 13, when he holed his approach shot, contributed to an excellent score of 68, four under par, three shots ahead of Ben Sayers (who also birdied the first three holes), Rhodri Harston and Jimmy Price who all returned scores of 71.
In the second round on Sunday Paul wasn’t able to maintain the form of the previous day but a one over par 73 was sufficient to finish one shot ahead of Ben who had another round of 71. Rhodri and Jimmy fell away, both scoring 75.
This was the third year in succession that Ben has finished second in the Championship, but he had the consolation of picking up the Kersey Cup for the best nett score of 138 (69 + 69), very impressive for a player with a handicap of 2.

The Ladies Club Champion is Amanda Norman who scored 164 (81 + 83). The Jean Cross Cup for the best nett score was won by Pat Cofield with 148 (76 + 72).
